Henry Opukahai’a was an orphan raised by his uncle to be a pagan priest but he became disillusioned with rituals and chants and left Hawaii for New England with a friend, Thomas Hopu.
They were befriended by Yale students and became the first Hawaiian Christians.
Henry studied Greek and Hebrew and translated parts of the Bible.
In his memoirs, which sold 500,000 copies after his death in 1818, Henry Opukahai’a wrote:
“My poor countrymen, without knowledge of the true God, and ignorant of the future world, have no Bible to read, no Sabbath.”
This inspired Thomas Hopu and Hiram Bingham to be the first missionaries to Hawaii, arriving MARCH 31, 1820.

100 Pages is Enough!: 2,700 pages of Obamacare insures it overreaches

When Chief Justice Roberts asked if the defenders of Obamacare expected SCOTUS to review all 2,700 pages of this overreaching law, he posed a question that should have been asked 100 years ago during countless other deliberations. It made no more sense to the Court than it did to Charlie Rangel – or any well-intentioned lawmaker or bureaucrat.

Tea Partiers formed committees to take on 20 pages each among them. It wasn’t pretty! Ms. Nancy still claims her Congress took the Constitution into consideration.

Lesson 1: Always listen to your local Tea Partier!

Lawmakers have their overpaid fun for a while, but bureaucrats make careers out of draconian rules, harassment and fines to justify their existence.

Careless whispers reveal Obama’s true intentions to destroy America

Last Monday, President Obama was overheard whispering to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev about plans to pursue another round of reductions of our stockpiles of nuclear weapons and the halt of a European missile defense shield. At the end of the meeting the two leaders’ conversation were caught on a hot mike. It seems that our “teleprompter President” hasn’t learned very much about the equipment used to spread his propaganda.

Obama: (Referring to Vladimir Putin) “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space.”

Medvedev: “Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you …”

Obama: “This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.”

Medvedev: “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.”

During the Civil War, after issuing his Emancipation Proclamation, President Abraham Lincoln set a National Day of Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer, MARCH 30, 1863, stating:
“It is the duty of nations…to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins…with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy…
The awful calamity of civil war…may be but a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins.”
Lincoln continued:
“We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven…
We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown.

Obama will defy Supreme Court if ObamaCare ruled “Unconstitutional”

For 2 years, champions of ObamaCare have been careful to lay out the advantages of their federal dictatorship before handpicked audiences of organized labor and supportive media transcriptionists, at events where applause lines have been rehearsed and questions carefully pre-approved.

As a result, the Regime had little idea that anyone of importance might actually disapprove of their 3000 page effort to separate Americans from their liberty.

So, much of the left entered the 3 day, oral argument phase of ObamaCare before the Supreme Court with the same arrogant exuberance which accompanied the passage of the law. After all, as they saw it only the ruling of a couple of rogue jurists on the 11th Circuit had placed the left’s dream legislation in front of the 9 DC Justices anyhow.
