Columbia University officials have been considering reinstating ROTC chapters, lifting a ban against the program since 1969. The faculty, with less courage than a Wisconsin Democrat, decided to poll the opinion of the students to see if they would accept a ROTC detachment to pollute their denizen of liberal indoctrination.
During a campus town hall meeting students were permitted to express their opinion about allowing ROTC to return to Columbia. Anthony Maschek, a freshmen addressed the crowd and told them some truths that never seems to make it pass the Ivy façade called higher education. He was for the reinstatement of Military education and warned the gathering about the evil people who wish to do harm to America and Americans. For his time he was heckled, ridiculed, and insulted by enlighten minds full of mush.
Anthony Maschek
Anthony Maschek, 28, currently a Columbia University freshman a decorated U.S. Army veteran who served with the 10th Mountain Division in Iraq where he was severely wounded in a fire fight in 2008. SSG Maschek spent two years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center recovering from his wounds.
Offensive Language
To borrow a favorite quote of Glenn Beck “The truth has no agenda” Maschek told the crowd something they didn’t want to hear “It doesn’t matter how you feel about the war. It doesn’t matter how you feel about fighting,” (2) and later remarked “It’s not a joke … these people, seriously, are trying to kill you. They hate America, they hate you.” (3) For his troubles he was mocked and called a racist by future McDonald’s drive-through manger rejects.
Out of Ignorance
Alex Horton wrote on the VA’s Vantage Point “If there were any doubts that a cultural rift exists between civilians and Veterans, a number of students at Columbia have confirmed what has been known to many of us. A lack of interaction with active duty members and Veterans has bred ignorance, mistrust, and fear that must be reversed if Vets are going to succeed after their service.” (4) Most of the liberal’s intolerance of Vets is based on ignorance at best and downright maliciousness at its worst.
Backlash
Nevertheless, we must not indict the entire student body because of a few intolerant students. Even Mr. Maschek defended the school from critical backlash this incident created. This would have been unreported if it wasn’t for the internet, talk radio and cable news. As usual the students are whining and spinning how this incident may have damaged the image of Columbia. Damage has been done and they are trying desperately to put this genie back into the bottle.
Now the students and faculty of Columbia are getting the same treatment the press reported about the TEA Party. It’s doubtful they will learn anything from it. Given the opportunity they will doubtlessly give the same treatment to others who try to tell them the truth.

This day in history February 26
1993: The first attempt to bring down the World Trade Center killed six people and injured more than 1000. The Clinton Administration treated this as a crime instead of an attack on our national security. This opened the door for September 11.

Calling these people the future drive-through managers simply isn't being honest. This man's classmates are the future leaders of our nation. They're extremely intelligent. They've accomplished a lot. They're type A personalities. And they've been told their whole lives that they are the elite.
In short, their self-esteem is blown out of proportion to their merits, and they consider themselves above others by a far greater divide than what truly exists. I can say that having attended a similar insitution. The arrogance you will see from these kids is completely out of proportion with realtiy. And it better be, as they've shelled out a lot of money for a very expensive university that is supposed to buy their position in life. That necessity of self-importance is what draws the rolled eyes at people who attended state schools or *gasp* only high school or the military as inferior beings.
One thing I very quickly learned in a university setting is that the quickest way to an A and all too often what was presented in the classroom was that the obvious solution just wasn't so. In fact, it was the exact opposite of what seemed obvious. You want to make an A on that paper? Argue against the obvious.
What also comes about in these university settings is the contradictory notion that somehow diversity is strength and that above all else, thou shalt not offend so long as the offense applies solely to a protected group or a liberal cause. I heard the word "diversity" so much in my undergrad years that I could puke, and when I actually challenged a classroom of my peers to point out any true objective benefit to diversity–pointing out that the average immigrant–legal or illegal–costs this nation money, I was pretty roundly castigaged and the issue completely ignored.
.
And so we're taught that those who would kill us are truly better than us and that frankly, we deserve to be killed. But the collective "we" refers to those who don't bow down before the gods of diversity and cultural guilt. It's a very masochistic and frankly contradictory religion practiced by these these "elites" (I'd call them psychollogically-conflicted in the same vein that a narcissist is extremely self-consciencious and exhibits low self-esttem), but it's certainly there–and fully enabled by the ignorance of youth that has never accepted responsiblity of sustaining one's self completely or of holding meaningful employment and the liberal vermon running our nation's universities, running off any who might disagree with their orthodoxy
