Upon being proven to have perjured himself before the House Government Affairs Committee, Attorney General Eric Holder did what any dedicated leftist would; he changed the subject and blamed someone else.
In a childish and petulant letter to his principle adversary, Darrell Issa, Holder accused the Republican congressman of cynical efforts to “score political points” and repeated his claim to have known nothing of Operation Fast and Furious in 2010.
But Issa would have none of the Attorney General’s bogus claims or pathetic excuses. In a masterpiece of typewritten homicide which has received far too little attention from conservative bloggers–and of course NONE from the mainstream media–Issa exposed Holder’s criminal activities and his lies and misrepresentations concerning Department of Justice involvement in Operation Fast and Furious.
With no trace of the professional courtesy or benefit of the doubt so often accorded one longtime inhabitant of D.C. by another, Issa pointedly accused Holder of deliberately “…undermining the [Fast and Furious] investigation” by offering a “roving set of ever-changing explanations to justify its (DOJ) involvement.”
And Issa rightly stated that, in shifting blame for the Operation’s “shortcomings” from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) to the Phoenix US Attorney’s Office, Holder’s “efforts were designed to circle the wagons around DOJ and its political appointees.”
Of Holder’s letter itself, the congressman made it clear the Attorney General had done little but “obfuscate, shift blame, berate and attempt to change the topic from the [DOJ's] responsibility in the creation, implementation and authorization of this reckless program (Fast and Furious.)
Of course that was obviously Holder’s intent. But rarely has a D.C. Republican had the courage to make such an unequivocal charge and call out a radical leftist for his blatant dishonesty and contempt for the American public.
Of Holder’s oft repeated promise to “destroy the cartels”, Issa wrote “Fast and Furious simply served as a convenient means for dangerous cartels to acquire upwards of 2,000 assault style weapons.”
It has long been known that the Obama Regime made a deal with the Sineloa drug cartel, offering this gang of murderous drug dealers free reign to operate throughout the United States in return for assistance in the breaking of other Mexican drug gangs.
And Issa had the fortitude to put this fact before the American people by accusing the Attorney General of direct complicity in the deaths of hundreds of innocent people in Mexico and the US.
In keeping with his fearless tone, Congressman Issa concluded with this most damning appraisal of the Attorney General and his Department of Justice:
“Operation Fast and Furious was the Department’s most significant gun trafficking case. It related to two of your major initiatives–destroying the Mexican cartels and reducing gun violence on both sides of the border. On your watch, it went spectacularly wrong. Whether you realize yet or not, you own Fast and Furious. It is your responsibility”
Darrell Issa deserves our thanks and admiration for his gutsy and straightforward disclosure of Eric Holder activities. Voters must elect more Republican politicians willing to display such courage.

Let's see.. Nixon found out some dudes broke into a hotel AFTER it happened and then participated in a cover up of the event.. Excuse me, but what Holder has done is FAR FAR worse than what Nixon did yet look how our the liberal media covers for Obama & Holder.. They IGNORE this outright attempt to subvert our 2nd Amendment, using the DOJ as a criminal enterprise.
It is obscenely long over-due for the government elites in this scandal to pay for the very suspicious death of Brian Terry , and to be held accountable for the deceit, deception, cover-ups, and refusal to own up to their participation in one of the very worst anti-American frauds committed by this current government . It ranks above, but not by much, the hateful ObamaCare foisted upon us by a government run-amok with power-tripping. "Fast and Furious" represents sub-rosa, in-camera, deliberate actions against our people, our rule of law, and every known form of decency and standard of human ethics. The amorality and Machiavellian evilness of it all is devastating in its' scope, detail and execution.
There is no way Holder can claim "political witch-hunt" with this nasty brain-child of his and Obama's creation. Brian Terry's death by contrived misadventure has both his and Obama's fingerprints all over it !
Holder… I don't want you to "step down", I want you to be rudely "brought down"; It's no longer your choice to be able to make deals with the Sinaloa drug cartel to freely operate within U.S. borders and it is no longer your choice too cast blame at others when this not only happened on "your watch", you were actively navigating that ship of state when it ran aground. You no longer have any options, just as Brian Terry had his options taken away from him with a Federally funded bullet..
Doug ! What an excellent article! And what a wonderful topic it is to finally be able to report that at least several Congressmen are using the "cajones" God gave them for something other than dallying with the fair sex.
This is a tightly gnarled topic and you did a good job condensing it to an understandable flow. The "OMG, where do I BEGIN" factor must have been pretty high!
I do remember to thank Rep. Issa. Several times now I have gone to his congressional website and congratulated both him and Sen Grassley for the work they are doing. It is a great reminder however, to all of us, that whenever we actually see excellence in office being committed, we need to acknowledge that excellence !
No one knows how all of this will shake out, in the final days, but I, for one, remind Rep. Issa that the American people, and Brian Terry deserve to have people actually punished for the wrongs committed against us all. It is fair to say that American citizens are fed up with government's refusal to pay any consequences whatsoever for the evils they have caused.
We know, based on our understanding of how political entities and governments work, that nothing, and I Mean nothing, this grandiose or epic in its' nature as "Fast and Furious" would ever DARE see the light of day without the explicit knowledge and participation of those who would have the most to lose should the plan run afoul. No "Captain" would dare to presume to undertake a project or mission without the expressed approval of those who outrank him. Plausible deniability won't work in this scenario.

Thanks very much. F&F is one of those endless stories with twists and turns and sometimes daily breaking events. Tough to keep up with sometimes. There will be at least 2 more F&F pieces on CiR this week. I just hope Issa & Co take the Regime down. It will require John Boehner having the guts to allow it.

I wouldn't rely on Speaker Boehner to have the fortitude to deal with ANYTHING of a contentious nature. I just sent him another "nasty-gram" reminding him that he too can be replaced, along with Obama.
Personally, I think Boehner should be called "The Janitor" because he sure as fire swept that Pledge to Americans document he signed, under the rug too quickly . Besides that, since becoming Speaker, he has knuckled under to Obama at nearly every turn. If the TEA Party folks like you and me weren't biting at his ankles, and bringing him up short on some of his "deals", this would be an even sorrier session than the Pelosi-Reed-run.
Hard to imagine anything worse than the hubris and deceit of Nancy Pelosi; but Republicans have most always been held to a higher standard of behavior than the Socialist idealogues; (as if "idiocy-in-office"is expected of them), and this makes Boehner's weaknesses and back-room consensus-building ,(when he should be leading a furious, righteous, stomping-brigade all over the Obama administration's agenda), that much more difficult to abide. I thought the United States ( read Congress), didn't "negotiate" with terrorists and traitors…like Obama. Boehner needs to get his mojo workin' pronto!

Liberals are by nature liars. The nature of their beliefs drives and sustains this tendency.
The liberal philosophies exhibited by many disconsolate, deluded individuals in the U.S.A and around the world are not viable in reality. I truly wish these philosophies were innocuous in nature; however, they are quite detrimental to the well being of the various peoples of the world. There are three reasons that liberals persist in their delusions despite said philosophies obvious detriment to the people of the world: ignorance, apathy, and greed.
Many liberals are usually well meaning but highly analphabetic cretins who have been deluded into following unsound philosophies by their peers. The left is comprised of people of questionable intellect and little or no ability to elevate themselves above the mindless droning of the masses.
Liberals practice beliefs and behaviors that are harmful to themselves and others. They do this knowingly but they simply do not care that their actions are harmful as long as they are allowed instant gratification of whatever they are feeling at the moment.
The upper liberal echelon consists of malicious power seekers who prey on the weak and ignorant while spreading their destructive filth for the sole purposes of prolonging their pathetic grasp on political power.
Regardless of whether a leftist is driven by ignorance, apathy, or greed, they all have one thing in common: they lie. The ignorant liberal lies either out of ignorance or to preserve self-delusional beliefs; the apathetic leftist lies to excuse his lifestyle; and the malicious progressive leader lies to keep his power base apathetic and ignorant.
Doug, a news break from The Sipsey Street Irregulars ! The Senate Judiciary Committee is preempting a House Judiciary hearing scheduled for December 8 regarding Eric Holder.
Apparently Obama and Holder would rather have the Senate Chair, Patrick Leahy put the friendlier spin on Holder's misdeeds, rather than allowing the House Committee to grill him 'till he bleeds.

The hold-up in the House has always been the timid Boehner; when it comes to "squaring-off " against Obama in a manner even remotely resembling aggressive.
This honestly makes me wonder whether or not Obama and Holder have been blackmailing Boehner for some reason or another.
No leader should be as spineless as that man has been without some threat hanging over his head.
If Boehner doesn't hastily reschedule the House hearing on Holder to precede that of the Senate's we can kiss away hope of an honest airing of the evils the DOJ head has committed.
Also, Sipsey says that a "document dump" will take place today from the DOJ; but only to "friendly" newspapers etc., of course!

I think I commented to you quite recently that John Boehner was holding up the bringing of perjury charges against former Phoenix ATF head Bill Newell…the guy who RAN Fast and Furious from his Arizona office beginning in Nov of 2009. If this pretty strongly supported rumour is true, Boehner is interfering with the taking down of someone who would probably roll for Issa and give God knows what deadly testimony against the Regime.
The Republican base has to work against the media, the Democrat Party AND its OWN Party elders for the betterment of the US!!! And we wind up being skewered by spineless wimps like Boehner.

I can only assume that Issa and Boehner have had "words" on this issue. I can't imagine that Issa would tolerate this lack of support from Boehner very well.
Do you suppose all this is about who gets to control the House majority ? If Boehner considers Issa to be a strong competitor for his position as Speaker, perhaps he would find it very easy to sabotage the very hearings which would give Issa the final impetus he would need to unseat the RINO-in-Chief-of-the-House.

What's really the shame of this whole thing is that we can no longer, apparently, give Boehner the benefit of the doubt in this matter, as he has opted to shaft Americans on too many occasions.

The best way to get rid of Holder will be the defeat of Obama next year. Afterwards, an honest White House can recall all of the records now being hidden from congress (assuming the Regime does not destroy them in the interim.) It would endear the Republican Party to its base for DECADES if a Republican president made it a priority to imprison Holder, Melson, Burke, Newell, Voth, Davis, Napolitano, Meuller and a dozen others for the Fast and Furious conspiracy. Tragically, we know it will never happen. And that's a disgrace.
