Through the years, we’ve been told by the mainstream media that Bill O’Reilly, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Rick Perry, and others represented the conservative point of view. For a long while, I bought that notion. Now that I’m relatively awake and actually paying attention, I don’t think ANY of them are conservatives!
O’Reilly’s positions baffle me. His assumption that a failure to raise the debt ceiling would result in a catastrophic downgrade of America’s triple A bond rating is an absolute joke. Failure to raise the debt ceiling does not equate to failure to pay debt obligations. How can O’Reilly not recognize this simple fact?
What it DOES mean is that Congress would be forced to live within its means. If raising the debt ceiling would actually improve our credit rating, then why do we have a ceiling in the first place? Eliminate it and spend away! Congress has proven over the decades that they need to have limits placed upon them. The debt ceiling is one of those limits.
Not raising the debt ceiling AND drastically cutting spending would show the world:
1We recognize we have a problem.
2 We are willing to do the hard things it takes to restore our nation AND our dollar.
3 Responsibility and honor still exist in America. How could anyone perceive this as a bad thing is beyond my comprehension?
If you were deep in debt would adding a new credit card (or raising the limits on your maxed out credit cards) improve your credit rating? Would a higher limit improve or potentially worsen your debt problems? These concepts hold just as true for governments as for individuals. The only difference is the enormity of the numbers.
Now for the “self-destructive” issue:
1 Senate Democrats have not passed a budget in over 2 years.
2 Since Obama took office, the national debt has grown more than 36% ($10,626,297,420,130.85 to $14,538,661,000,000 plus).
3 Unemployment has risen significantly during Obama’s reign.
4 ObamaCare is not the rosy plan the Democrats portrayed it to be.
5 TARP, the Stimulus Plan, QE1 and QE2, and Cash for Clunkers, all failed.
6 Homes and businesses are still going into foreclosure.
7 Food and energy prices are on the rise.
8 2012 is an election year.
The Democrat Party, Republican Party, Tea Party and general public know all of these facts. Despite this knowledge, Bill O’Reilly thinks the Tea Party needs to compromise or THEY will be blamed?! How clueless can he be? If the Tea Party doesn’t force the Republicans to take a firm stand now, they never will. The Tea Party is their spine.
Apparently Mr. O’Reilly doesn’t fully appreciate the precarious position our country is in.
He has made that quite clear.

Six Wisconsin Republican State Senators need your help. They are facing a union thug forced recall election. The most endangered is Dan Kapanke, he really needs your help:

In this world you may have knowledge or you may have repose, but you may not have both. What have you done today to deserve to live in America?

Bill O''Reilly is the worst kind of Buffoon; he is paid to make an ass of himself. And, what is more, the jerk is beginning to believe his own hype.
No self-respecting, true conservative, or Tea Party individual, would give him the time of day.
He has always been "clue-less", in my estimation. His conclusions are so vapid and inane that a juvenile can see through them.
I've always thought of O'Reilly as a Liberal sheep trying to disguise himself as a concerned "Centrist"
If O'Reilly even RECOGNIZED a cogent argument I would be truly stunned. Additionally, his compulsion to constantly play the "Devil's Advocate", as if he was "the conscience of America", is mere self-puffery and vanity. The wish to hear his own voice (no matter how asinine that usually is), supersedes reality.
The "No Spin Zone" is a black hole which sucks in reason, common sense, and perception.
Though he can be entertaining at times.
Once in a little while he does surprise with a cogent conservative argument he mostly appears to know which side his bread is buttered on. Fox News appears to be losing ground to the wealthy Arab and radical left despite the great success it has had on merit. I am sure a decision was made somewhere to drop the investigation into the greatest story of our time- the usurping of the Presidency by an unqualified person whose loyalty is what was feared and addressed to the founding fathers by John Jay, the first Chief Justice. Just how did they even shut Trump up? Any upheaval is better than what we have now.
Who would you lend money too? Someone who is irresponsible and keeps getting deeper into debt or someone who is responsible and works to live within his means. Shouldn't the latter have a higher rating? The rating services have far too much undeserved clout and respect. The leeway for their terrible errors in judgement (assuming it was honest unbiased judgement) in the past that helped get us into the trouble we have now.
I hope Fox News continues to be the leader in more rational debate; however, folks like O'Reilly and Geraldo Rivera have got to go!
Give me Juan Williams any day…at least HE gives the appearance of thoughtful consideration…. better yet, Judge Napolitano!
Actually, I wouldn't say that Fox News has lost any ground at all. Just watch the ass-kickings when the Presidential and Congressional elections go into full swing. Everyone is in a "lull" for the nonce.
S N, I wasn't even aware that there HAD BEEN a truly serious investigation by Trump or anyone, for that matter. Inquiries were made; that we already know. As for shutting "The Donald" up' , I don't know whether or not this happened at all. Perhaps there is another conspiracy afoot; but I am not aware of it. Wouldn't surprise me however.
The rating services are bullies to be sure, but Congress and the past two Administrations, deserve every ounce of criticism and censure that comes their way. Personally, I hope such threats by the "raters" grows louder.
It occurs to me that far too many Congressional types, as well as Bush Jr and Obama, have had Carte Blanche when it comes to spending our money. Now that we are balking ,calling them out., and even having the audacity to replace many of them with reformers (we'll see how THAT works out for us in time), they STILL don't "get it". Boehner, his cronies, and Republican (read RINO), Senators call Tea Party activists and supporters all sorts of names and try to marginalize and herd them into obscurity. So far they haven't budged much.
Personal note to Sen. John McCain, when you stop calling Tea-Party-ers "Hobbits"; I'll relent some in my conviction that you are an opportunistic Jackass.
Sen. McCain suffers from "Maverickitis". It is a recurrent infection that flares up when it is able to do the most "friendly fire".
Hey there S.N. !
"Friendly fire" certainly is an apt analogy to the surprise "sorties" and sniper attacks McCain directs toward any dissension off the centrist doctrines he holds so near and dear.
He may have been a warrior at one time; but the laurels on his epaulets have grown dim and tarnished with "compromise".
This old, gelded, once-honored, war horse needs to be put out to pasture lest he taint the potency of other steeds in the Washington stable with his "Can't Do" attitudes.
I used to like watching Bill O until the story about Obama's SSN from Connecticut! What a bunch of drivel Bill O spewed out. It was pure, unadulterated BS.
That's when my light bulb moment came on for me. Bill O is so full of himself and tries to come across as the 'final say' because Bill O said it. He's arrogant and a self-deluded narcissist!
