Did He or Didn’t He?

By Jim Emerson, staff writer

Mark Owen’s book “No Easy Day” was released this week with much controversy. It details the actual events that led to the death of the world’s most wanted terrorist, Osama bin Laden. The truth didn’t come close to the narrative released by the White House. The book is less than flattering of the Obama Administration.   After the book was published and released to the public the Pentagon declared that the book contained classified information and the Chief of Naval Special Warfare Command declared the book provided insight to secret military operations.

Nondisclosure Agreement

When working in Special and Black Operations, members involved must sign a non-disclosure agreement before being granted access to “sensitive compartmented information.” When the individual signs the agreement he/she can no longer speak about or write about the mission or operation without completing the prepublication review process outlined in the agreement. Most people prefer not to discuss their experiences in Black Operations because it makes life less complicated. Since this book was never reviewed in accordance with the agreement and revealed classified information the author could face criminal penalties and the possible forfeiture of any financial profits from the published manuscript. If past experience is an indicator it is unlikely that anything will happen but never take anything from the thugocracy of the Obama White House for granted.

Lawyers representing the book’s author Matt F Bissonnette, writing as pseudonym Mark Owen, are disputing the need to submit the book for review before publication. Despite the authors, Bassinette and Kevin Maurer insist they were ‘meticulous about adhering to his desire to never do anything to undermine the SEALs’ mission or put his former colleagues in harm’s way.” Legal precedence has been established in federal courts in the case of USA v. Ishmael Jones. If secrets were revealed it would be on the front page of the New York Times before the Eric Holder Justice Department could file charges.

Pentagon spokesman George Little told reporters that “No Easy Day” contained “Sensitive and classified information” but he never addresses the material disclosed.  Since the actual book refutes the White House leaked narrative and embarrasses the current occupant this begs the question: classified to whom? Also, is Joe Biden’s mouth subject to security review? He’s the one that revealed the SEAL Team Six involvement.
