Dissecting Obama’s March 2008 speech would have proved he is an anti white male bigot

Barack Obama’s speech on race, given to expiate the offensive race baiting rhetoric of his pastor of 20  years, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was the angry rhetoric of a politician or his propagandist who told us just what he would do if and when elected, and he is doing just what he said.  The syntax, choice of words, and use of grammatical devices suggest to me that a white man wrote Obama’s March 18, 2008 speech that now is his.

White House play book.   Having taught very diverse students for 30 years, I never heard an American of African Descent using the word “embody” or saying “pounce on a gaffe.”  Further when, I studied the use of linking opposites and parallelism in Obama’s race speech I decided that a white academic wrote paragraphs that link Black rage to “Whitey’s” fault over and over. Consider paragraph 21 which says, “Trinity (Rev. Wright’s Church) embodies the black community in its entirety-the doctor and the welfare mom, model student and former gang banger. . .”  Embody is a word to subtly link the slave trade to the white man.

Subtlety highlighting white wrongs the speech writer compares Rev. Wright to Obama’s white grandmother who privately told the young boy certain anti Black sentiments, while Obama’s pastor railed against Whitey and America for twenty years in a very public setting.  Only a very sophisticated propaganda hustler would know to paint a minor, very private example with major, very public examples in order to equate them. Here, rhetoric becomes very effective.   

Use of the confederate flag in paragraph nine, placing the word African-American before American, and bemoaning the fact that Obama is either  “too black or not black enough” are very deft uses of English literary construction to drive home his point: Whitey is bad. The writer begins his race speech by denigrating the Declaration of Independence in saying “it was signed but ultimately unfinished by our nation’s original sin of slavery.”

 Terms such as original sin and saying “words on a parchment are not enough to deliver slaves from bondage” set up the speech to drive home the theme that because Whitey is so bad, you can only expiate slavery by electing Obama.    Pitting Blacks and Minorities (“not black enough”) against the White American male, was an extremely skillful product of a very skilled speech writer who had to be a white male.

The middle part of the speech trotted out the entire laundry list of Whitey’s sins after reminding us Obama’s wife has slave blood.  The ending whips home the theme of Whitey is bad with its example of a poor young white girl eating mustard and relish sandwiches because her cancer stricken mother can’t work anymore of course America owes her, too.  The entire speech pits the White American male against Obama’s voting bloc to get him elected.

The way Obama has treated white males since taking office reinforces the notion that he is an anti white male bigot. That speech told us what Obama is, but we didn’t listen.
