These two stories bring meaning to the phrase “domestic enemies.”
The ethically challenged Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has been losing its battle to spray perfume on itself and keep investigators from the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) away.
Unable to refute the many charges of unethical and even possibly criminal conduct the OCE is investigating, Representative Marcia Fudge, an Ohio Democrat spokeswoman for the CBC has introduced a bill to prohibit the release of any reports generated by the ethics watchdogs.
More than this, it would prohibit the OCE from initiating inquiries on its own unless presented with a sworn affidavit outlining first hand knowledge of alleged impropriety.
Completely setting aside the ethical requirement that Congress’s conduct be ethically exemplary and above the average citizen’s Fudge complained, “O.C.E. is currently the accuser, judge and jury. This isn’t the case in the American justice system, and it shouldn’t be so in Congress.” What?
Don’t even ask us
So far four of nine cases involving the CBC have been dismissed and another three are awaiting final action. This raise the question: Are we allowed to even ask about the conduct of our elected officials? Apparently the CBC’s members don’t want to be “bothered” with questions about their ethics.
In the meantime the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) has asked the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to end its relationship with Arizona police agencies as a punishment for Arizona’s new anti illegal alien control bill.
Lying about the new law Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Calif.), of the CHC babbled, “The federal government should not be an accessory to the unconstitutional actions of the Arizona state government. By continuing to work with Arizona police departments operating under SB 1070, the Department is implicitly condoning the shameful tactics authorized by the new law.” Nervy aren’t they?
The CHC demanded the DHS suspend its 287 (g) Secure Communities programs in Arizona. These programs are data sharing agreements giving local law enforcement departments’ instant interface with federal immigration databases. This edge is a great assistance to their efforts to rid our land of the unwanted illegal aliens still pouring over our southern border.
The Congresswoman’s office said DHS has 13 such programs involving local police departments in Arizona. This would cripple their ability to do their job and she knows it.
Are either of these Democrat groups truly American?
America is in real danger. Do something yourself because the Democrats won’t help us and the Republicans don’t have the power.
What did you do to support and defend American freedoms yesterday? What will you do today and tomorrow?
