The most reliable theory of man’s progression from caves to modern society is Abraham Maslow’s “Hierarchy of needs.” Maslow postulated that as man moves up the ladder of sophistication he reaches levels that provide him with security first in physiological needs – food sleep and so on, then feelings of esteem and “self- actualization.”
It has become clear a new level of “progress” in satisfying needs must be added to Maslow’s list: entertainment provided by society. Today we are seeing large bands of young mostly minority criminals raiding businesses and stealing what they want to satisfy their demands for “entertainment” from an ever cowering society.
We give these people everything free from before they are even born. Free pre-natal care is available to all women. Once born, totally free of cost, many of these people go home to public housing which provides free water heat electricity and color TV of course. In many cases they receive free clothing and mom gets a free car (Massachusetts).
When their mom wants a “day off” there is always free daycare to watch them. At four years old they are sent to “head start” programs where they are fed breakfast lunch and dinner. From there they go to free public schools where they are feed all three meals and in many cases baby sat until 7PM so mom can take care of the baby brothers and sisters that have “magically” appeared over the preceding four years.
If they decide to stay in school they will be able to play on sports teams and not have to pay the “required” fees to do so. Since they pay for nothing, why should this be an exception? When school becomes too boring or “too White” they leave and take to the streets where they follow the values and rules developed by other children. Fathering several children by several different females is at the top of the list. Getting free lawyers when arrested is another of these street values.
Of course none of this is new. It has been going on for at least fifty years since Democrats accelerated their push to get more and more people on our welfare rolls. Nevertheless, our prototype “man” has begun to take the next “logical” step; he has been taught from his first day on earth that everything is free so why shouldn’t he crash into a business to take what is “rightfully” his?
He wants what he wants and he wants it now! Being street smart, if not book smart, he knows he can only take what he wants surrounded by a protective mob of like-minded fellow travelers who also believe “I deserve it, I want it and I’m going to take it.”
He turns stealing into a “so fun happening.” Using free cell phones he coordinates with others and raids the stores that have what he wants.
Is it any wonder we are seeing these flash mobsters descend on our stores, looting whatever they decide we should be giving them? Entertainment; it’s their “self-actualization”!
