When I was assigned to write about tomorrow’s ”Day of Rage,” organized by the likes of ACORN Founder Wade Rathke and SEIU’s Stephen Lerner I resisted it mightily. I heard a grumble in my lower intestine and a silent yell, “Nooooooooo, don’t make me, puhleeeeeze!”
I knew the cognitive dissonance and just plain idiocy of a group that regularly claims to be more “tolerant” and “compassionate” than the rest of us and then incites hatred and chaos in order to declare themselves entitled to what other people earn, would put me dangerously close to head-exploding territory.
Then, I settled down enough to read and hear what they’re saying and planning to do tomorrow, just a week after the tenth anniversary of 9-11 and only blocks from Ground Zero.
They want to “occupy” Wall Street, they say, and hope to persuade 20,000 people to set up tents and live “for months if possible.” (don’t they oppose homelessness?) They want to “choose good companies to hate” so as to “bring down Wall Street.” That’s rich. Ummmm, well not rich anymore is what they hope.
They accuse Wall Street of a “banking Jihad.” I always knew the teller at my local bank had a machete in his cash drawer. But wait a minute…head pressure is rising… They want to compare the evil that declared war on this country and disintegrated the lives of more than 3000 people to the free market in question (under direct attack as we speak) where those same innocent people worked at their desks attempting to support their now broken families? Is it a coincidence that people like Ward Churchill likened the victims to “little Eichmanns….?”
These geniuses admit they want to “overthrow Capitalism” as the great evil. –something they admit they dare not admit. (sorry, too late) This will invariably bring us closer to the exact climate in which real Jihad foments; a climate of statism and tyranny.
What is most disturbing about this attempt at “political theater” is a kind of Arab-centrism and a generous, not-so-subtle use of Islamic references. “Occupation;” (an accusation of which they outrageously accuse Israel and which they claim they vociferously oppose) “Banking Jihad;” and “Tahrir”—the progressives’ new “it” word referring to the community organizing of Muslims across the Middle East to create chaos and overthrow their governments with the promise of an “Arab Spring.” Apparently, the Radical of my Radical is my friend. Of course, no one knows cui bono? (who benefits?) when the lesser of two evils succumbs to what is likely to be the Muslim Brotherhood.
What sort of logic and morality is it that heaps hatred upon the victim and bestows understanding and even compassion upon the perpetrator? Is it the Stockholm syndrome (the strange phenomenon of identifying with the aggressor) or is it a level of hatred for this country and its people that defies comprehension?
I have to stop now. My head is about to explode and I have to finish laying down the plastic sheeting. Blood and brain tissue are almost impossible to get out of carpeting and furniture.

A great piece, Emma. And "Arab-centrism?" Well naturally, those with utter contempt for the United States, free enterprise and an enduring belief in individual liberty have to stick together. After all, where do you think MSNBC anchors come from!
You've got cognitive dissonance backwards. It is something that NORMAL people experience; and that irrational people do NOT experience.
The Muslims will push and push and get away with just as much atrocities as we allow. They are already pushing to incorporate their barbaric Sharia (Islamic law) into or as a substitute for American law.
For months they have been illegally blocking streets in Wall Street, and Bloomberg has done nothing.
Civilization is under attack by Islam and few people are clear headed or honest enough to admit it.
