Over the past few days a few stories arriving on the internet have combined to give us a look at the “ghost of socialist America future.”
A Rasmussen poll told us that 26% of adults in this country believe the government, (read Obama Administration) should manage our economy. Surprisingly just 23% say government should stay away from our economy and let it run itself.
A story from Norway connects to this sad state of affairs. It tells of how the European Union which runs EVERYTHING in Europe not just the economy, with its centrally planned economy, has strangled the farming industry in Norway so thoroughly that the price of a simple pound of butter has soared to 350 euros or about $465.00! Of course the official explanation is “Don’t blame us there was too much rain this summer which cut the growth of cow feed and dairy farm production,” (Just as it would happen in a free market economy – I’m sure!)
People have started to smuggle butter in from Russia! Russia – is now a better place to farm than Europe?
The third peek at the future Obama is pulling us toward is one about the Navy. To perpetuate the lie that biofuel is a viable alternative to actual fuel, there has to be some sales of the stuff in large quantities. Suspiciously the good folks over at the Department of Agriculture just happened to have 450,000 gallons of biofuel they could sell to the Navy at a “nice” price. The price wasn’t “nice” for us the tax payers but hey “it’s not our money” as the civil service mantra goes. The biofuel was sold to the Navy by the Department of Agriculture for $16.00 a gallon!
The companies that supplied the biofuel are based in Pennsylvania where Obama must win to have a chance of reelection, and California where complete Democrat control makes kick backs fun and profitable.
A managed American economy is in our future and things like this will be commonplace unless we kick Obama out next November. Remember that when you hear someone say “Oh I don’t vote because they’re all the same!” No they are NOT all the same.

Have you answered this week’s CiR.com poll?
This day in history December 15
1961 Adolph Eichmann was sentenced to death by an Israeli court for organizing the deportation of Jews to concentration camps.
In this world you may have knowledge or you may have repose, but you may not have both. What have you done today to deserve to live in America?

Coach, I must beg to differ…on only one issue however.
Unfortunately too many of them ARE "all the same". We've heard the expression for generations now that "There's not a dimes bit of difference between the Republicans and Democrats" Largely, I believe this to be true. Our self-serving Republican RINO/Centrists have become far more Socialistic during the past two administrations especially. And, the Democrats have turned even more Socialistic. They all have the same end goal…..Federal control over every aspect of our lives. Both parties are all about continued federal control.
This myth of Federal sovereignty over us all must be broken, now!
Americans have been ruled by political expediencies, regardless of part affiliation ; it is time for it to end.
Butter and gasoline will not be our worse fates, if we do not succeed in bringing down the size and scope.
You see? I agreed entirely with the main thrust of your article. We speak a very similar language.
The result is common knowledge for anyone that is willing to read a book or study history. There is no way that a central planner can have enough information to make all the right decisions about the economy. Additionally, there is absolutely no way they can compete with the free market where millions of independent decisions are made in real time about production and market prices.
