Let them eat their shoes and sandwiches: Boycott the NFL!

By Ron Reale,  staff writer

The NFL,  Nike and Subway,  in an incredibly insulting slap in the face to the 86% of Americans that own and cherish their companion animals, has gone out of its way to hire the only person they feel appropriate to promote their products, Michael “DOGKILLER” Vick.

O.J. Simpson wasn’t available.

I figure they want everyone that handles their products to feel just like Michael “DOG KILLER” Vick felt when he had his hands around the throat of his dog, choking the life out of it for losing a fight. As they slide their feet into their shoes, they can think of “DOG KILLER” sliding his two innocent house pets into the pit to be terrorized and ripped apart alive.

With every step of their feet hitting the ground, they can imagine feeling like “DOG KILLER” Vick did as he lifted another fight-losing dog high over his head, and slamming it into the ground repeatedly, until it was dead.

The tingle of excitement they get from wearing new Nikes must make them feel just like “DOG KILLER” felt when he was electrocuting still other dogs that lost fights for him.

As they wash their shoes, they can be just like “DOG KILLER” Vick was, as he drowned his other dog, laughing as it struggled to escape its cruel fate.

Nike is missing a big new market, “DOG KILLER” Trading Cards! Every child under 12 should receive,  a  FREE pack of explicit,  beautifully embossed, autographed photographs,  with hand written descriptions, detailing all of the wonderful, new ways “DOG KILLER” enjoyed, (the quote of one of his friends was that, “he got off” on finding new ways), to kill his animals.

The depraved actions of this thug,  against animals,  is similar to the history of many serial killers, so of course the NFL, Subway and Nike, in a craven quest for the almighty dollar, have thrown their support behind this “DOG KILLER”.

Michael “DOG KILLER” Vick is an abomination, a piece of human excrement that deserves to be shunned. His actions are not deserving of a position of respect in the NFL, where children get to see and admire him.

Anyone that would stand next to him on the playing field is an unethical, morally challenged coward. Their paycheck is more important than their being associated with this monster.

I had one pair of Nike sandals. They are in the garbage. I will no longer eat at Subway. I will never again go to an NFL game. I hope the rest of the 86% of animal-loving Americans feel the same.

If not, we are in more trouble as a nation than we think.

1959: Oh so liberal Democrat Boston “allows” Pumpsie Green an African American to play for the Red Sox,  thus becoming the very last major league baseball team,  including the Baltimore Orioles,  to hire a Black ballplayer.

  • Freakin incredible!! Thanks for the article, Ron. Outrageous and to think that there are cases of dogs risking their lives for their masters; dogs that serve the blind; sniff out bombs, drugs, find lost kids. The best animal God gave us and these companies do this?? This guy is a disgrace and the companies are a pack of soulless louts to give this scoundrel money!

I have stopped eating at Subway. Since it is a block from my job, I was eating there several times a week. I have also talked a few of my co-workers into doing the same. I have called Nike and emailed them about how disgusted I feel.

I am stunned by the passion you are capable of arousing both in yourself and in us.
Very graphic, very painful, very effective.
Those who mindlessly grovel and drool at the slime created when using men like Vick to hawk their products, hopefully will suffer a national outcry and a collective kick to their corporate groins from folks like us. We are fed up with being force-fed their video crassness and idiocy to begin with; this just makes matters intolerable.
    Great Job Ron !

Well, YEAH Ron, but you need to look at it like the ever increasingly left wing NFL. He runs fast has a good throwing arm and he's black. And after all…it's not like he's Rush Limbaugh, or anything REEEEELY bad!

Allow me to add one more point on this topic, please.
It occurs to me that it is possible that Vick has had a "come to Jesus" revelation about his behavior regarding the ghastly abuse he inflicted upon the dogs in his care. He had enough jail time to mull this over for sure. He was also forced to repay something like $6 million dollars of his contract or bonuses (can't remember which), and may have had thrust upon him as a condition of release mandatory community service in the form of public engagements as part atonement for his crimes. I do know that Vick is participating now in a national effort to deal with animal abuse. I believe he is currently speaking in Houston, Texas on this very subject. It is possible that Vick's involvement now in Animal Kindness is purely voluntary. That would be a commendable act
It is also possible to believe that Michael Vick's personal reformation is only so much hype.
I do not know the man's soul or heart. Nor do I know the conditions of his release.
These speculations still do not alter my belief that Vick is the wrong choice for such a national campaign.
Should any individual be given credit for trying to turn their life around? Absolutely ! He can continue to play football !
Give another player the opportunity for self-promotion being granted to Vick.
