Gallup Polling Company is caught between what its thousands of interviews say about Barack Obama’s reelection chances and what it longs for the facts to be.
They do their best to hide the truth with suspiciously timed releases and obfuscating language. Nevertheless, embedded in its latest report on voter attitudes, Gallup’s delivers more bad news for Obama. Try as it did to put a happy face on the dangerously low level of “satisfaction” in the electorate, Gallup can’t do much with a 22% rate. Bill Clinton, George W Bush and Ronald Reagan all had more than 41% rates on their way to reelection, but George H.W. Bush was at 22% in 1992 when he lost to Clinton.
Voters’ sentiment on the economy shows more weakness for Obama with 56% saying it is getting worse while just 38% see it getting better. This -25 in Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index compares too favorably to Bush senior’s -31 during June of 1992 to provide any real encouragement for Obama.
Gallup’s attempt to talk up the improvement in the unemployment rate as reported last week (8.3%) runs into a serious problem since for the least two years Gallup has been saying the real rate (8.6%) is higher than being reported. When the underemployed numbers (18.7%) are included things get still worse for Obama.
The current 71% of Americans with economic matters on their minds is reminiscent of Bush senior’s ill-fated reelection campaign 20 years ago.
Rasmussen’s numbers
The Rasmussen Report shows us the sour attitudes of “uncommitted” voters which carries a subsurface problem not being focused on by many analysts. The sample is small (only 12%) but the trend is clear: just 20% of these likely voters approve of Obama’s job performance.
This 12% “uncommitted” could mean 88% of voters have already made a decision. With the enthusiasm rates among Democrats as low as they are a recovery by Obama looks less likely by the month.
Note: neither of these reports was completed before the showdown with the Catholic Church over the issue of forcing faith based institutions to offer abortion services as part of their employee health insurance plans.
If Obama is on track for reelection, there is little evidence to support it.

In this world you may have knowledge or you may have repose, but you may not have both.

Well, Gary, you just keep on believing in your hope and change. As for me, I'll vote for whomever the GOP nominates as any of them would be better than that false Messiah. The cult of personality goes away in November and a mass intervention will ensue as the rest of us figure out a way to get you all off the Kool-Aid.
Yes, he is in terrible trouble.

Yes, of course using a gambling web site is certainly more reliable than Rasmussen and Gallup.
Believe what you want but ask yourself what Obama has done that YOU want to see more of. Then ask yourself if most people agree with you. Here’s a hint the “country is on the wrong track” numbers are sky high so your job will not be easy.
Please keep reading CiR.

I will keep reading, mainly because I am fascinated as to why , otherwise, intelligent people can still believe in the birth certificate nonsense,I am not being snide I am genuinely curious as to why some on the right deny every single piece of proof that is put in front of them. No other President has ever been treated thus and , of course, at first glance it would appear to be racist or "other", a cosmopolitan man unlike any other who has been President, but surely it can't be only that. I await answers that rely on more then the nonsense that Orly Taitz, Dentist, puts out.
If you will take the time to listen to this audio – it is 38 mins and it does NOT change your mind then this is really not the site for you. I have not even shared this with anyone else but it is what changed my mind.
All others are free to listen of course. Invest (a good liberal word) 38 mins for the good of your country or Amerixca as the case may be. This is your duty as a thinking person. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7czei27fTY&fe…
If you are sincere in your search for the truth you will take this challenge.

1. Well, let's see, the Dow Jones is approaching 13,000. It was near 7950 on the day President Obama took office. Retirement account balances have consistently increased under Obama.
2. One of the first things Obama did was end the stem cell research ban, at Nancy Reagan's pleading. Scientists rejoiced over this decision and America will no doubt reap the rewards in the near future when it comes to matters of health.
3. Nearly one-million young people between the ages of 19 and 26 now have affordable health insurance because of President Obama's Affordable Health Care Act. Senior citizens who previously fell into the doughtnut hole can now afford medication.
4. Don't Ask, Don't Tell is a thing of the past, and America's military is stronger because of it.
5. The death of nearly 3000 Americans on 9/11/01 was finally avenged with the death of Osama Bin Laden on 5/2/11. Surely you remember that President Bush didn't know where Bin Laden was, and didn't care either.
Should I go on?
