Why has Herman Cain’s campaign thus far survived a media-led sexual harassment assault which would have surely doomed Republican candidates with more money, more powerful friends and the party’s blessing and support?
Certainly it isn’t because this scandal-pimping subsidiary of the Democrat Party has a history of taking it easy on black conservatives. Clarence Thomas and Condi Rice will attest to that.
On October 25th, Cain had topped party favorite and Northeastern liberal Willard Romney by 4 percentage points in a CBS/New York Times poll. And 5 days later, by strange and timely coincidence, the left-wing, on-line hit service Politico had presented 2 females brought forward by anonymous sources, willing and eager to resurrect dozen year old sexual harassment claims against the newly crowned Republican front runner.
Never mind the overpowering odor connected with the timing of these sudden and suspicious revelations. For months Politico had covered the Cain campaign with its standard, anti-conservative bill-of-fare of sniping, innuendo and cheap censure. But that was the time-worn, canned media attack tripe reserved for second stringers, “also-rans” and anyone considered less than a real threat to their boy in the White House.
But Cain’s remarkable October assent to legitimate contender status necessitated the invention of a big time media scandal blitz. And albeit injured, Cain has survived the onslaught.
How has he done it?
In stump speeches and interviews since the beginning of the year, Cain has stated he would not “…stay on the Democrat plantation like I’m supposed to.” He has said “we do not need to rewrite the Constitution…we need to ENFORCE the Constitution,” adding “…the liberal attack on America is making the pursuit of happiness more and more and more difficult.”
He has told supporters that “there is a creeping attempt to gradually ease Sharia law and the Muslim faith into our government.” “It does not belong in our government.”
At the NRA national meeting, Cain told gun owners that “the right to keep and bear arms and protect yourself if you have to is fundamental to freedom.”
Of voter ID requirements, Cain said “the people who fight against having…statewide voter ID…are the very ones who know that all of the fraud is going on.” “Civil rights organizations…talking about how it’s in violation of civil rights…they’re trying to protect the vote fraud that they know is going on.”
He has spoken of the “…need to secure the border for real” and the fact that “…[immigration] must occur legally through the front door, not the side door or the back door.”
And he has taken a stand as pro-life, attacking Romney for his on again, off again commitment to the rights of the unborn.
In short, Herman Cain has remained the only true and viable conservative in the Republican stable. He has neither forced ObamaCare on a state nor shared a couch with Nancy Pelosi. And he looked directly at the American people when he said he didn’t do it.
The party base and many others are sticking with Herman Cain. We have first hand experience with the calamity which results from the premature dumping of conservative candidates in favor of those reputedly more electable, “Karl Rovian” sure things like John McCain.
Who began the bimbo assault on Cain, no one knows–at least no one who’s likely to tell. But as long as Cain remains a pro-life, pro-drilling, pro-gun, anti-illegal invasion conservative in favor of expanding liberty rather than government, he will remain a viable Republican candidate and could well win it all. Only an attack of political cowardice, not the media’s phony bimbo shtick can sink the Cain campaign.

Have you answered this week’s CiR.com poll?
This day in history November 14
1995: The U.S. federal government began a partial shut down of government services after the U.S. Congress could not pass a budget. Contrary to “conventional liberal/RINO logic” Republicans did NOT suffer at the polls because of this Democrat stunt.

I heard a blurb on a news report today that really ticked me off ! The network news which aired on "talk radio" is that Cain's poll numbers (since the mud-slinging got wilder), have been dropping.
That report might be at odds with the increase in campaign donations which the Cain for President campaign received as soon as Politico aired their many stories.
I simply "considered the source" of the news report but I have made a mental note to check out some of the polling data.
Cain is eminently believable despite the bad press being hurled his way.
He has made his share of gaffes to be sure, but he revisits those gaffes with corrections made in public like an honest man would.
Cain will benefit greatly by selecting a very knowledgeable Vice President (Gingrich?), a notable and truly conservative cabinet (Where is Condy Rice now?), and by selecting Constitutional scholars and judges to fill certain Cabinet positions and advisory staff.
I agree that this election is Cain's to win or lose.
I would appreciate learning from anyone reading this post whether Cain is adamant about granting his presidential support to Congress regarding the repeal of ObamaCare. Just because he has so far not indicated any interest in forcing ObamaCare on the States doesn't mean that he would be averse to the Federal government's involvement in some form of a Republican Healthcare plan.
I absolutely do NOT want the Federal government to be involved in ANY way with Americans' healthcare insurance plans or coverage.
I would also want to know whether Mr. Cain intends to, as President, repeal most, if not all, of Obama's Executive Orders.
