During his 1984 campaign Ronald Reagan ran a thirty second television spot that very subtly highlighted the differences between his understanding of the threat of the Soviet Communists and Walter Mondale’s underestimation of the danger they posed.
The spot opened with a narrator saying “There is a bear in the woods.” As it progressed, a brown bear was shown wandering in a forest.
The full text was, “There is a bear in the woods. For some people, the bear is easy to see. Others don’t see it at all. Some people say the bear is tame. Others say it’s vicious and dangerous. Since no one can really be sure who’s right, isn’t it smart to be as strong as the bear? If there is a bear…”
Twenty eight years ago Reagan was referring to the threat of Communist aggression, but the underlining message would be the same if it were run today. Ron Paul and his supporters are willfully blind to the threat of Islamist terror. Some of them like Paul himself insist they don’t even see the “bear” of terrorism. Others from the slightly saner wing of Paul’s basement dwellers look at the Islamists and want to negotiate with them. They see errant European cousins who have just temporarily lost their minds –Nazis and Fascist come to mind.
These useful idiots want us to take a nice sounding “live and let live” position towards the lunatics in the Middle East who hate us and want us dead just because we are alive. So, one group doesn’t see any danger and the other represents total danger. It’s hard to figure which of these groups is ultimately more of a threat to America’s future.
In Reagan’s day we didn’t have a 1400 year record of Islamic attacks to point to. Although he well understood how dangerous the Soviet Communists were he had to be subtle. He had to be careful not to offend those who had been fooled by Walter Mondale. We don’t have that luxury. It’s time for subtle talk to stop.
It’s time for Paul’s supporters to take a long look at his dangerous foreign policies and decide what is right for America’s survival. Thereafter it is time to soundly defeat Uncle Crazy and his band of useful idiots so we can turn to the important work of defeating Barack Obama and saving our county.

I take offense to being called a useful Idiot. And I can shoot holes in your "dangerous" criticism of Ron Paul's foreign policy. And I happen to be a 10 year veteran of law enforcement..and a very good shot! I admit there is a fringe of followers of Ron Paul that are way out there. They are young and have not earned wisdom and discernment, yet. Give them time!
First…all Americans should be RESEARCHING all the candidates. I have been doing so. If you REALLY researched, you would see how DANGEROUS the other candidates are, compared to a Constitution loving Patriot, like Ron Paul. I mean TRULY research! Just listening to others is not researching. Ron Paul is so demeaned by the Right, and the media that hardly anyone knows the true Ron Paul, or his ideals. He is misquoted. He is quoted out of context. One minute or 30 seconds in a debate, is not enough time, for him to convey his true, and thorough thoughts to the world. Research is needed…Instead of being lazy and letting someone else do your research…DO IT YOURSELF! This is not an offense to you Coach..this is a broad statement to the majority of American citizens. But I believe, you have been mislead by the media's control. You must dig deeper!

You must understand that Ron Paul is very intelligent. Because of his racing intelligent mind, he sometimes does not finish a sentence before starting another.
Wouldn't you rather have an honest man, who follows the Constitution, than liars and corrupt individuals running this nation..as we have in office now? You will have more of the same, or WORSE, with some of the candidates, presently running for the office of the Presidency.
Learn about how he TRULY feels about Iran, Israel, and foreign wars using the USA as their policemen. While talking to Sean Hannity after the Iowa debate, he stated he did not want Iran to get a nuclear weapon.
We CANNOT AFFORD to police the world anymore! And if he were President, he would go to war, IF we were attacked. He would do it legally though..through the Congress. I'm still, to this day, am flabbergasted how our then President Bush reacted on 9/11. He behaved in a completely embarrassing way. When there's an emergency, you don't just keep on doing what your doing. You get up, excuse yourself, tell those 2nd graders there's an emergency and excuse himself posthaste. Is that too hard to understand?
I'm a Ron Paul supporter and I agree with his foreign policies. Yeah, we'll attack and defend ourselves if they come over here. But all these unrelenting, power grabs in the Middle East and all of our troops spread thin all over the world, puts America in danger should an attack on our soil happen. I can hear the left already bellyaching if Paul were president — 'we can't bring all the troops home now, the economy wouldn't be able to support them. To keepyourpower : It would be more valuable to hear or read information about Paul's positions when the Q&A isn't a scripted "one on one" campaign controlled interview. Also, one learns more about the pitfalls of Paulism (and the man himself ), when he is in a debate setting .

Simply because Dr. Paul is intelligent, and I agree, he IS intelligent; does not mean that he has a lick of common sense.
How, for example, am I supposed to trust or respect Paul's Foreign Policy…especially regarding the Muslim Brotherhood, when his domestic policy of open borders immigration allows too many Foreign Nationals, including the Brotherhood, to enter into this country ?

You are not very well informed of what Ron Paul is trying to get across. I have explained why he does not get his ideas across…one minute or half a minute is NOT enough time to explain what he has to say in the debates.. THAT is why I sent you to the videos where he sits and talks. There it is calm and he can speak openly without stress.

I agree that Ron Paul needs some lessons on speaking in front of people and try to slow down his thought processes…but HE can save this nation! I cannot find another candidate that is running that can.

I am in the UK so I have limited information on the States' immigration policies. In any event immigration is a responsibility of the Federal Government and since Dr. Paul proposes secure borders there should be no difficulty with individual States working with him to implement his policies within their jurisdictions.
The Muslim Brotherhood is probably penetrated by the CIA. It may even be a CIA asset just like al Qaeda which grew out of a CIA mujaheddin operation in Afghanistan in the 1980's. The present objective seems to be to create governments in the Middle East controlled by this Islamist organisation in order to heighten the apparent tension in the region and create opposition for Iran which is a Shiite Muslim country while the Muslim Brotherhood is Wahhabite Sunni Muslim. Sunnis and Shiites are ancient enemies although both are Muslims. Just look at the present situation in Iraq.
The Wahhabis, founded in the 18th century, are the most conservative Muslim group and are today found mainly in Saudi Arabia. They are the core of the Islamist resistance to American hegemony. This is very odd since Saudi Arabia is of course an American controlled asset in the region and is believed to possess nuclear capability.
The connection only makes sense if the CIA (and the other members of CAZAB) do indeed control both sides of the conflict. They create provocations using deluded young Muslim men as patsies to carry out "terrorist" operations, then use these provocations as an excuse to retaliate and prolong the so called War on Terror.
This War on Terror is the propaganda narrative being used by the globalist cartels to further their world domination strategy using America as a garrison state to provide money, munitions and manpower. This is all openly available information to anyone who wishes to find out what is really going on. Unfortunately the majority of the American people are being kept in the dark and are still unaware of the duplicity of their government.
It is our hope that Ron Paul will be elected and bring an end to these insane wars and their objectives that benefit only the psychopaths who are in charge of our countries. (I live in the UK.)

Coach, Oh! I believe the Islamists exist! I truly do! I consider them evil. I consider most of the Congress evil too. Evil is everywhere now.
But I believe it is time to bring our troops home and let them defend their own country. Unless you want UN troops here to gather us up under Obama's orders using the Defense Authorization Law and Patriot Act II. Bring home our troops who swore an oath to the Constitution …not Obama. Let them control the borders, rivers, lakes, oceans, airports and rail roads…like they do in Italy and other countries. There is plenty of work for them to do here and stay in the military. We could keep the illegal alien Hezbollah and Hamas from coming over our borders. We would have the troops available when Hezboallah in Cuba decides to strike.
Are you aware that they are so near? Are you aware that they SAUNTER over our Southern border? Are you aware that there are at least 35 Islamic training camps in the USA? Probably plenty more that have not been noticed. They like to find property in the deep woods where they cannot be seen or heard.
I too have studied the Islamic problem in the USA. …along with the Illegal Immigration problem here.
But leave them alone over there…UNLESS they attack us. It does not have to be on our soil. It could be on our ships, or planes, or Embassies. THEN we take them out! But until they actually attack us…leave them alone. There are other countries in the world, who will take over where we left off.

If you believe the present foreign policy is sane then please explain why the CIA, MI6 and Mossad with help from the Human Rights community engineered the "revolution" in Libya using the Islamist fighters that Qadhafi had released on the advice of the CIA and his son Saif al islam Qadhafi. Prior to this he had worked with the CIA against the Islamists who were his enemies on religious grounds. Qadhafi was a moderate Muslim who gave equal rights to women. He based Libyan law on the Qran rather than the Hadith.
These Islamists had fought in Afghanistan and Iraq against the US and NATO forces yet they were used by NATO to overthrow and kill Qadhafi. These Islamists now control Libya and the same can be said about all the other so called Arab Spring "revolutions" that were also coordinated by the organisations sponsored by the US State Department such as AYM and OTPOR.
The end result is that Islamist governments led by the Muslim Brotherhood will now be installed in these nations. The next target is Syria then Lebanon and Iran. This is all clearly laid out in studies written by neo-conservative think tanks like the Project for the New American Century, now Foreign Policy Initiative, and the Brookings Institution,s "Which Path to Persia".
If indeed you have done research for this article then perhaps you have overlooked some obvious avenues of inquiry into the actual geo-strategic plans that your government has made for the perpetual war in which they are now engaged. The fact is that the narrative that your are promoting is simply the propaganda cover for a drive for world domination using the United States as the garrison state to supply the munitions, manpower and money. The end goal of this strategy is confrontation with China and Russia for control of the Asian heartland.
The choice is clear. Either continue down this road to WWIII or put an end to the insanity by electing Ron Paul who will dismantle the Empire without jeopardising the safety of the American homeland and bring peace to the world. He will also clear out the psychopaths who run the show at the moment. Why on earth do you think they are opposing him so strenuously?

Just close your eyes…think of Chinese, Russian, Korean, Vietnamese, Saudi Arabian, Iraqis, Iranians…any other military walking our streets. Think of them putting sanctions on US! News flash: American aggression didn't defeat Communist Russia. We allowed the USSR to have nuclear weapons, without pre-emptively attacking them, for decades. It was open diplomacy and the Soviets' own bankruptcy that ended the regime.
In contrast, this useful media idiot Kevin Collins needs to remember a couple of other statements made by Reagan:

The only problem with that being the soviets weren't a theocracy bent on to paraphrase "steeping the world into chaos to bring about the coming of the all holy Mahdi." They also did not view martyrdom as a positive thing to be sought after Iran's leaders (and enough of its people) do. Hell Paul's foreign policy I believe would work with even North Korea under Kim Jong Il, however with Iran Paul is supremely naive as are you comparing it to the fall of communist Russia.

Ron Paul's foreign policy has a few good points…but overall, I believe it is naive and assumes things about some of our known enemies which could severely harm this country. Perhaps Paul needs to revisit some of the surprising public comments he has made regarding Islam, the nature and reality of Sharia law on American soil…and the support for a "Palestinian" State.
And, if Mr. Paul gets enough votes, whether as a Republican, or as an Independent, or as a Libertarian Party Candidate after the primaries, he will split the votes in favor of Obama and usher in another rousing four years of "The Lying King".
Joanne you REALLY need to keep on what is happening! Did you not watch the Saturday morning debate? Did you not hear Ron Paul's answer to the question as to whether he would run as a third party?
