Phoenix district United States Attorney Dennis Burke resigned last week, desperately hoping the move would help him avoid prison time for his criminal involvement in the Obama Regime’s Operation Fast and Furious.
Chief of Staff to former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, Burke moved to Washington, D.C. as her Senior Adviser when Napolitano was chosen to head up Homeland Security, acquiring along the way all the political clout necessary to become Obama’s pick as US Attorney.
And when the dependably dishonest, liberal “yes man” was named to the post in September of 2009, Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder knew another indispensable Department of Justice operative was in place for the implementation of Operation Fast and Furious.
For although this criminal enterprise was a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms operation, we now know it was actually the Obama empowered US Attorney’s office in Arizona which pulled the strings it was hoped would bring the scheme to fruition.
In a letter to US Attorney Ann Scheel, Burke’s replacement in Arizona, Senator Charles Grassley writes, “the level of involvement of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona in the genesis and implementation of [Fast and Furious] is striking.” And later, Grassley states his committee’s investigation “…has revealed [the Arizona US Attorney's office]…played an integral role in the day-to-day, tactical management of the case.” (1)
But Dennis Burke’s was, in fact, a role of deliberate MISmanagement!
In testimony to the Grassley/Issa committees, ATF agents made it clear Burke’s office actually sought to stifle their investigation, as agents were prevented from interdicting the travel of firearms across the border into Mexico.
Moreover, “…all the available tools, such as civil forfeitures and seizure warrants, were not used in [Fast and Furious] to prevent illegally purchased guns from being trafficked to Mexican drug cartels and other criminals.” (1)
Why would the United States Attorney, tasked with prosecuting those identified by Fast and Furious, wish to make the job of the ATF more difficult?
Because the true purpose of the Operation was neither to interdict the smuggling of guns nor uncover the identities of the “Who’s Who” of Mexican drug and arms traffickers.
Guns were SUPPOSED to move across the border, show up at countless crime scenes and be traced back to US dealers. Only then would the left be provided with the necessary excuse for the implementation of more restrictive gun legislation on the American public.
And the DOJ, through Dennis Burke’s office in Arizona, was entrusted with making sure these things happened.
But although Burke worked to protect straw purchasers and gun runners from the law, his other criminal interference in Fast and Furious was even more disgraceful.

Do you think when AZ wanted to enforce immigration laws this was why the feds decided to sue them. Makes sense and obama and holder both threw their hats into that ring. AZ accidentially stepped into their gunrunning business. Maybe!!!
YOUR SO RIGHT ON IT IS WHAT IT IS TIME FOR OBAMA TO GO TOO JAIL WHAT SAY YOU OUT THERE?
Hey Tim! Could you try a little punctuation in your messages? It's difficult to sort out your meaning.
If you are asking our opinions on whether Obama should go to jail, my answer would be unequivocally YES.
My question to you, in return would be: "Who has the "stones" to put him there?
Representative Issa's and Sen. Grassley's letter to Ann Birmingham, acting attorney for the District of Arizona, was the most damning document to date regarding the involvement of the US Attorney's Arizona office in both the execution of, and the subsequent evidential and witness interference with, The Obama administration's Operation Fast and Furious.
The people of Arizona, and indeed our entire Nation, have every right to question the apparent corruption, motives, patriotism, integrity, ethics, and lawlessness not only of the Arizona Atty's Office, but of ALL of the US Attorneys Offices across America.
The Obama administration's "stink" has most assuredly pervaded the Federal Attorney's Offices in all parts of America!
Great Article Coach!
Wasn't Dennis Burke the guy behind sending those two agents to prison for shooting at a illegal running across the border and leaving his drugs in the car on this side of the border. If so this is poetic justice. I can't remember their names.
The agents names were Ramos and Compean, but I think this happened in Texas rather than Arizona. I believe a different US Attorney handled the case, though I'm not certain.
Yes: based on our laws here, both agents were acting within the law and protecting their lives.
The DOJ unlawfully inprisoned them.
The drug runner was armed and combative.
Do the rest of us in the USA believe we are are playing a video game here on our southern border?
It was well known here in AZ within law enforcement agencies that Burke was rouge and acting against the law at the enpense of his ICE law enforcers . It was the ICE agents that turned in states evidence as W. blowers. They are the heros in this story lest we forget that these men and women man stand taller than others and with great fear for losing their jobs and to the duty sworn to protect. The duty to protect the USA and the rest of us. Holder and his minions are dirty traitors and cowards and should be hanged at dawn if, we were speakiong about another era. He has told all law agents "to stand down," we won't won't stand down. Please stand with us to see jsutice served. Fax , email, and insist on removing Holder.
I haven't had a drink in ten years but will have the biggest hangover in ages when Obama and Holder are brought to justice. and then let's get the others involved, in there with them including Reid and Pelosi.
That's a date my fellow American and I'll bring my freinds!
