Protecting incompetence: a D.C. way of life

by Jim Emerson,  staff writer

A hallmark of the inside the beltway, cronyism style of government is the protection and promotion of incompetent political hacks within its own ranks. (2)  An independent review board reported that the murders at Benghazi on September 11, 2012, were the result of “systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies” at the State Department. (3) But of course,  “…the Board did not find that any individual U.S. Government employee engaged in misconduct or willfully ignored his or her responsibilities.” (4) The fix was in even before the State Department announced, the very next day, that Secretary Clinton had accepted the resignation of Assistant Secretary of State Eric Boswell.

New York Post

The Post’s Josh Margolin reported this week that four State Department officials involved in the Benghazi affair were never removed from their positions, are still on the payroll and will resume their jobs in the near future. They were never held accountable for contributing to the murder of four Americans at the hands of al Qaeda sponsored terrorists.  In fact, even Assistant Secretary of State Boswell didn’t really resign. His title was simply changed and he moved to new desk. Deputy Assistant Secretaries Charlene Lamb and Raymond Maxwell will stay at their position as well. Despite gross incompetence they will not be held accountable for a thing.

The Independent review board led by retired Ambassador Thomas Pickering had to know in advance that no one in the State Department would be held accountable. These are D.C. insiders protecting their own. (1)

Where’s Hillary

Sectary Clinton’s self-diagnosed concussion was, of course, an excuse to dodge the December 20 congressional hearing on Benghazi. And she has stayed on the lam ever since. Despite noise from Senate Republicans about holding up the confirmation of Secretary of State nominee, Sen. John “Lurch” Kerry until the retiring Hillary has testified, nothing will happen. Hillary will not be held accountable and she will still be adored by hordes of low information voters.  (5)

Working for the Federal Government is better than being “made” in the mob! After all, in the State Department you never have to worry about the Feds sending you to prison.  In fact just lay low till the heat is off and you will still have your job, money and a high-tone cocktail party waiting for you. It isn’t gundam style, it’s beltway style. Capiche?

  1. You write that Hillary will still be adored by low information voters. I would say that she will still be adored by low intelligence voters.

  2. The misdeeds and corruption of this administration is beyond the pale. Obama is an illegal president, we have unelected ‘czars’ writing laws for us, but not for them to follow, we have a do-nothing Congress and a Senate with Harry Reid that is still receiving a paycheck for basically doing nothing. We have a department of justice (an oxymoron now) with one Eric Holder in charge (that’s a total joke). This administration is run like the mob and no one is being held accountable for anything.

It’s time to round these bastards up, let’s have some trials, and open those jail cells. These pukes have ruined this country enough. How much longer are we going to put up with this BS?!!!

  3. Starte taking the little guys out in the Democrat party and the fish at the head will soon find that there is no one left to do his dirty work and therefore he is next to go to prison. There are enough Tea Party members with intelligence to investigate the Hillary’s, Shumers, Reids, et all that know the truth about Obama’s illegality and Holder’s covering up for him that they could take the little guys out easily nd work their way up to the top
