Sorry, Your GUN RIGHTS are just TOO EXPENSIVE to Guarantee, but your food stamps aren’t!

By Doug Book, staff writer

For decades, liberals have worked tirelessly to restrict or rescind the right to keep and bear arms. And supporters of 2nd amendment rights have heard every excuse the left has ever advanced to achieve its ends. But the good people at the Wisconsin based Lacrosse Tribune have come up with something new.

Madison Wisconsin has always considered itself a beacon of enlightened Marxist thought in the barren, Midwestern waste land of family oriented, Middle America. So the sudden sweep to power of a Republican state legislature, coupled with the victory of a conservative Governor had to be a massive, systemic shock to the urbane sensibilities of the Pravda-reading, latte-sipping ruling class.

Now it appears the previously unthinkable has happened. Wisconsin’s State government actually intends to provide residents of the state with access to their rights! For years, only the states of Wisconsin and Illinois had deprived the people of the right to carry a concealed weapon. But there are currently 3 separate bills working their way through the legislature and the passage of any one would leave Illinois the sole holder of that despicable distinction.

Unfortunately, editorial writers at the Lacrosse Tribune have decided the grant of an inalienable right to commoners is too radical a departure from the Madison way.

“Why do the leaders of our state insist on making it more difficult to vote while making it easier to carry a weapon,” they lament, as lawmakers consider requiring photo ID at the polls. As usual, the left favors voter fraud to self defense.

“We have long questioned the wisdom of making it easier to carry a concealed weapon in a state with a drinking problem,” is the next “argument”, followed by the standby claim that, as weapons aren’t allowed into State Assembly or Senate chambers, other workplaces–or “places” PERIOD–should be firearm-free as well.”

Among the lame excuses the paper offered, this is my favorite,”…how can we afford to hire additional staff to process applications for concealed carry?”

It seems Wisconsin will be forced to hire 13 additional state employees to process/approve concealed carry applications and permits at an annual cost of some $1.08 million dollars. Apparently, organized labor will permit none of the current tens of thousands of state employees to spend a few minutes each day doing the job.

But a million dollars each year is just TOO MUCH to guarantee an inalienable right to the citizens of Wisconsin!

WisconsinShares is a state program which pays child care expenses so low income parents can leave children in good hands while working. A 2008 audit found the state had been swindled out of $20 million by unscrupulous “child care” workers and parents.

Wisconsin‘s Food Share (food stamp) program has doubled in size since 2003, costing taxpayers $800 MILLION annually. Jailed recipients sell food stamps to those on the outside. Stamps are sold to store owners and they are traded for drugs.

But a million bucks to secure our right to keep and BEAR arms is just not affordable. Incredible!
