Statistics show conservatives have always been right: more guns in honest hands equals less crime

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

Headlines announcing record purchases of guns during the Christmas gift giving season must have infuriated a lot of liberals. It’s a sign that another one of their tired old arguments is not resonating and they are losing on this crucial issue.

The very anti Second Amendment Barack Obama and his Party have some impressive and unambiguous numbers to argue against in their attempts to portray private ownership of guns as too dangerous to even consider.

In spite of what the media and their Democrat masters say, a  twenty seven year study of accidental deaths conducted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)  places handguns toward the bottom of their list. An accompanying chart shows that with the exception of four years and not since 1993 it has been more dangerous to ride in a car than to be around a privately owned handgun.

Measured against all types of accidental deaths those caused by mishandled guns were substantially below deaths from vehicular accidents, fires falls poisoning and miscellaneous fatal occurrences. Just half of one percent of accidental deaths in the last 27 years can be traced to mishandled guns.

Americans are apparently not only safe around guns, but their guns seem to be making it dangerous for criminals to operate in our midst.

The latest FBI crime statistics show the eight most serious crimes including those perpetrated against individuals – murder forcible rape robbery and aggravated assault are down an average of 7%.

These plummeting crime statistics can be attributed to our unwillingness to be victimized.

If we are not the most well-armed people in the world with 88 guns for every 100 Americans, we must be very close to that mantle.  It has never been easier to get a concealed carry permit

The experience of Kennesaw Georgia should have settled the question of whether more guns in honest hands means less crime long ago. Since 1982 all households in Kennesaw have been required to have a gun. Last year as usual, Kennesaw’s crime statistics were less than half of the national averages. In a nation whose crime statistics are falling every year, Kennesaw is doing better than cutting the national numbers in half every year – any questions liberals?

  • Those who hammer their guns into plows,
will plow for those who don't.

    Thomas Jefferson.

  • Those who trade liberty for security have neither.

    John Adams.

  • I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people.
To disarm the people is the best and most effectual
    way to enslave them.

during Virginia's convention to ratify The Constitution, 1778.

  • Firearms stand next in importance to the United States Constitution
itself. They are the American peoples liberty teeth and keystone under
independence……from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day,
events, occurrences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace, security
and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable. The very
atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference. They
deserve a place with all that's good.

The evidence that more guns equal less crime and that concealed carry license holders comprise the most law abiding group in the United States is overwhelming. The left's perpetual battle for the destruction of 2nd amendment rights has nothing to do with crime, nothing to do with the safety of police and nothing to do with the accidental deaths of children. In fact, the average DC leftist could not care less about any of these. The Barack Obamas, Eric Holders and Michael Bloombergs of the country realize that an armed public cannot be enslaved. Therefore, the arms have to go!

Obama will be remembered for having performed just ONE service for the U.S.: a 4 year, record number of private gun purchases. And for that, we thank you, Barack.

Sweet Puppy… You're so correct. It has never been about guns per se, but about control of the citizenry.
My bumper sticker still rules! "Never trust a Government that doesn't trust you to own a gun !"

My scenario: Come election time the country will have been beaten down by the "Fear/Chaos Merchants", aka liberal media, and the GOP/DEM system, a system blinded by it's own crimes. A system who promotes NDAA, Patriot Act, Guantanamo, putting people in cattle cars and shipping them to FEMA camps for the NWO. With Ron Paul representing the Tea Party/Third Party, you have a huge 'game changer' who is promoting the Constitution, sound money, liberty, an end to being the policeman of the world. I'm not a rocket scientist but this is a no brainer really!

To Gil Jones : Fear Not… I'm not buying into YOUR, or Obama's, fear campaigns. Fear paralyses action. I don't have time for that kind of nonsense.

Remember that in WWII Japan knew better than to invade the US because they knew there would be "a person with a gun behind every tree." We still have this, the "army" of hunters and gun owners who refuse to give up the battle with this corrupt administration, millions of people who are fighting back against the corrupt administration.

History has proven that when a country gives up their guns, only criminals and the government have guns, and the people are tragically overcome. Obama and his motley crew keep hammering away at our Constitutional rights, figuring that if they can break one part of the Constitution, they can trash the whole document. We, the people have had a constant battle with this, but we, the people will not give up….
