Threat of Fast and Furious pay back claims DOJ ally of Eric Holder

by Doug Book, staff writer

The man who assured Senator Charles Grassley that no “gunwalking” had taken place during Operation Fast and Furious has just resigned from the Department of Justice. “The allegation…that ATF ‘sanctioned’ or otherwise knowingly allowed the sale of assault weapons to a straw purchaser who then transported them to Mexico—is false,” wrote Assistant Attorney General Ron Weich in his now infamous February 4th, 2011 letter to congress. Nine months later the DOJ retracted that letter, advising congress it contained “inaccuracies.”

It was just 48 hours after news that a Contempt of Congress charge against Attorney General Eric Holder would be put to a House vote that Weich decided to end his Department of Justice career. Confirmed by a 2009 Senate vote to his post in the Office of Legislative Affairs, Weich is the first of Barack Obama’s Main Justice, political appointees to resign as a probable result of Fast and Furious involvement. … Continue Reading:Threat of Fast and Furious pay back claims DOJ ally of Eric Holder

Corrupt consigliere Eric Holder defies Republican leadership, welches on promise of “good faith”

by Doug Book, staff writer

Years as an avid, hands on “facilitator” for corrupt Democrat presidents have taught Attorney General Eric Holder that contempt and cynicism are the best weapons against annoying Republicans in search of facts. In yesterday’s eagerly anticipated meeting with Darrell Issa, Holder did exactly what anyone familiar with the arrogant racketeer might expect. He ignored vows he made to the Republican Congressman about bringing the matter of Fast and Furious to “an amicable resolution” by demanding today’s scheduled House contempt of congress vote be cancelled before any of his Department’s subpoenaed Fast and Furious documents would be handed over to the Issa Committee.

“The [Justice] Department is prepared to compromise with the Committee in order to answer the questions set forth,” promised the Attorney General just 5 days earlier. But Holder’s concept of compromise is that of any self-serving, leftist chiseler, that being to swindle the mark.

It took just … Continue Reading:Corrupt consigliere Eric Holder defies Republican leadership, welches on promise of “good faith”

Fast and Furious investigation could end today, Holder go scot free

by Doug Book, staff writer

Attorney General Eric Holder will meet with Fast and Furious nemesis Congressman Darrell Issa at 5:00 this afternoon in what could mark the end of the Congressional investigation of Barack Obama’s deadly gun smuggling scheme.

Last week, House Republican leaders at last agreed to schedule a vote on the Contempt of Congress charge Issa has long sought to bring against the Attorney General for 8 months of refusing to honor Congressional subpoenas. Deputy Attorney General James Cole quickly responded with a letter to House Government Reform Committee chair Issa, requesting a meeting to discuss ways of avoiding the vote. Issa agreed to meet with the Attorney General, but only if the Justice Department were willing to “…submit a serious proposal for how it intends to alter its refusal to produce critical documents subpoenaed by the Committee…”

One day later, on June 14th, Holder answered with a two page letter … Continue Reading:Fast and Furious investigation could end today, Holder go scot free

Rep. Issa afraid to enforce law against black AG Holder

by Doug Book, staff writer

During the past week a number of Operation Fast and Furious watchers have been celebrating the notion that Congressman Darrell Issa’s February 14th letter to Eric Holder represents a last chance, comply or else, final offer to the gangster Attorney General. (1)

Unfortunately, buying into such wishful thinking will result in nothing but disappointment as the Congressman has shown little in his dealings with the Attorney General over the past 6 months but a litany of empty threats and predictable retreats when they are ignored.

During his December 8th testimony before Issa’s House Government Reform Committee, Holder stated emphatically that his Department of Justice would NOT provide congress any Fast and Furious information dated later than February 4th of 2011. In support of that assertion he has prevented DOJ officials providing testimony to the House and ignored repeated requests for relevant letters and emails. (2)

Perhaps such astounding arrogance should have … Continue Reading:Rep. Issa afraid to enforce law against black AG Holder

Darrell Issa to finally put Eric Holder behind bars?

by Doug Book, staff writer

As a result of his refusal to honor House committee subpoenas demanding the release of some 70 thousand Fast and Furious-related documents currently withheld by the Department of Justice, Eric Holder faces the very real possibility of arrest and imprisonment by the House of Representatives.

“Your actions lead us to conclude that the [Justice] Department is actively engaged in a cover-up,” wrote House Government Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa to Attorney General Holder just two days before his February 2nd testimony before the Committee. (1)

Stating what interested Americans have known for a year or more, Issa speaks of the contempt in which the Attorney General holds the Republican led House of Representatives and his resulting willingness to ignore subpoenas and set the terms under which he will permit DOJ officials to produce documents or respond to Committee questions.

“During your testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on December 8th, 2011, … Continue Reading:Darrell Issa to finally put Eric Holder behind bars?
