Can Underdog Barack Obama catch Newt Gingrich?

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

“I’m absolutely confident we’re going to win this thing,” Barack Hussein Obama whistled past the graveyard and told a gathering of 50 people at Spike Lee’s house the other night.

Apparently Barack hasn’t read the polls in quite a while, but then again neither have the likes of Karl Rove Ann Coulter or George Will.

Just a month ago in a Christmas week release designed to make certain it was lost, Gallup unveiled an ugly picture for Barack Obama and the Republican establishment. Gallup says there is not only a high level of enthusiasm for throwing Obama out (64% of conservative Republicans are very enthusiastic about voting next November) but there is an alarmingly low amount of energy within Obama’s core voters – “non- White” enthusiasm is at just 32%.

Also included in Gallup’s report based on its findings in Obama’s 12 absolutely must have states, was news … Continue Reading:Can Underdog Barack Obama catch Newt Gingrich?

Paul’s charade as a Republican comes to a crashing end and other thoughts on South Carolina

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

We TEA partiers have always known we had to first scare the Democrats, then scare the Republicans and finally scare the media.

We got the first one done in 2010, now Newt Gingrich is helping us scare the Republicans and the media. All three are worried “…the world as they know it is slipping away.”

Gingrich will turn Washington upside down make no mistake about it. His burning desire to become a historic figure will not allow him to do otherwise.

The “buzz” about Marianne was over before Gloria Allred could fly to her side- proof Axelrod can fool all of the people only some of the time.

Democrat Harry Truman once remarked, “Given the choice between a Republican and someone who acts like a Republican, people will vote for the real Republican all the time.”

Ron Paul, who masquerades as a Republican, learned this lesson Saturday when South … Continue Reading:Paul’s charade as a Republican comes to a crashing end and other thoughts on South Carolina

Newt turns media “gotcha” questioners into road kill

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

John King has joined Juan Williams as Newt Gingrich road kill.  They have both been taught a harsh lesson: Newt Gingrich will not play the “gotcha question” game and he will turn such questions into smack downs of those who insist upon asking them.

In just over 2 minutes Gingrich took King’s opening question about the charges being made by his former wife and flattened the pride of CNN to the delight of hundreds in a South Carolina auditorium and millions across the country. Newt’s smack down had us banging our fists and saying “Finally! Finally somebody is punching back!”

John King failed miserably in his attempt to destroy Newt Gingrich and put Mitt Romney, his preferred candidate, back on track. When King opened his questioning of the former Speaker with his “gotcha” question about Gingrich’s marital problems, it was King who was “gotten.”

Blinded by a perceived opportunity to make Gingrich … Continue Reading:Newt turns media “gotcha” questioners into road kill

Beware of conservatives who see benefit in Obama’s re-election

by Doug Book,  staff writer

At least one well-known conservative has begun speaking out-loud the notion that an Obama re-election might not be the very worst thing that could happen, either to the nation or to Republicans—even to REAL Republicans–that is, conservatives, members of the Party base whose mistrust of Obama is nearly equaled by their mistrust of Mitt Romney and the 2008 ‘Ghost of Romney past’, John McCain.

The best-selling author of “Looking out for Number One” and “Restoring the American Dream”, Robert Ringer has been a Libertarian/conservative for decades. And given 5 decades of Libertarian leanings, his support of Ron Paul should surprise no one.

But just prior to the Iowa Caucus, Ringer decided that should Ron Paul run the independent, third party campaign many so fear him capable of  “and it resulted in Obama’s re-election, [Ringer] would be fine with that if it keeps Romney from taking the reins of power and … Continue Reading:Beware of conservatives who see benefit in Obama’s re-election

Willard’s 25% problem returns as 75% say “No thanks” and other thoughts on Iowa

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

Mr. 25% has done it again. Willard Romney has a thing about the number 25. If there are six people in the Republican field his 25% puts him at or near the top. When the field thins out his 25% will have to be increased or he will end up the same way he did in 2008.

Rick Santorum is a solid conservative who demonstrated that a candidate’s perceived conservatism will ultimately be the quality that propels one of the Republicans on the stage to the nomination. Whether Rick has the staying power to mount a protracted fight remains to be seen, but for now we have to congratulate him for being the first candidate to expose Willard’s 25% problem to those who believe his nomination is a settled matter.

Ron “Sanjaya” Paul has had his day in the sun. There will probably never be any way to prove it, but Paul was … Continue Reading:Willard’s 25% problem returns as 75% say “No thanks” and other thoughts on Iowa
