Israel Strikes

by Jim Emerson, staff writer

Israeli warplanes reportedly stuck a convoy of weapons, inside Syria, that was destined for Hezbollah in Lebanon. The convoy was carrying Russian manufactured SA-17 missiles to be used by the terrorist organization to target Israeli Aircraft. Israel publicly warned Syria that it would take action to prevent the shipment of weapons to any terrorist group, especially chemical weapons. Israeli intelligence has been monitoring the areas between Syria and Lebanon for any sign of weapons convoys. (1)

SA-17

The SA-17 (Grizzly) is a mobile surface-to-air missile (SAM) system and in terrorist hands would curtail Israel’s ability to operate near or in Lebanese airspace against terrorist targets. It would be seen as a “game changer” in the region and a direct threat to Israel. (2) Hezbollah can use the SA-17 to protect its missile launching sites and convoy routes from Syria and protecting terrorists from retaliatory airstrikes.

By providing Hezbollah SA-17 systems, who knows what the … Continue Reading:Israel Strikes

Jordan the Muslim Brotherhood and Obama’s weak image in the Middle East

By Jim Emerson, staff writer

Facing strong Opposition in Syria the Muslim Brotherhood looks south to gain a new base to fight the regime of Bashar al-Assad. They must believe that the West friendly King will be a push over. By consolidating the Palestinians living in Jordon the Brotherhood is gaining leverage in a power play to gain more control of the region. It would make an excellent base for an al-Qaeda strike into Syria. This week our Secretary of Defense announced that American Troops were being sent to Jordon to assist the Jordanians and to deter to escalation of the violence to spilling over into the Kingdom.

NATO

Tension between Syria and Turkey has resulted in the exchange of fire between the two Arab nations. This week the Turks intercepted a Syrian Airliner and forced it to land in Ankara. Upon searching it they found it was carrying Russian supplied military equipment and … Continue Reading:Jordan the Muslim Brotherhood and Obama’s weak image in the Middle East

Blind to the truth about Islam; Lieberman is cheering for the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

Joe Lieberman is a curious little man. He professes a love for America and Israel, yet his basic liberalism seems to have blinded him to the danger of Islamic terrorism. Tuesday the Democrat Connecticut Senator displayed his naivety when he told an interviewer, “I’d like to see us take a side. I don’t think it’s enough … for us to say Assad should go, Assad’s a dictator … We have a moral responsibility and a strategic opportunity to do more than what we’re doing there [ in Syria].”

Okay this is standard liberal drivel, but what he says next is just plain stupid and dangerous. “So what would I do?” Lieberman answered his own question with, “I’d embrace the cause of the opposition to Assad; I’d begin to work with them closely. I’d give them weapons — that’s the key.”

Hear that? A Democrat jackass wants to arm the Muslim Brotherhood … Continue Reading:Blind to the truth about Islam; Lieberman is cheering for the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria

Amateur Hour at State

by Jim Emerson, staff writer

Last Tuesday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accused the Russians of delivering attack helicopters to the Syrian regime. (1) While attending a question and answer session at the Brookings Institution she said the U.S. was “concerned about the latest information we have that there are attack helicopters on the way from Russia to Syria.” (4) Insinuating that the Russians were arming Syria to kill its own civilians in order to quell a peaceful upraising but she left out an important detail.

Omission

The British press reported that the helicopters were refurbished and was being returned to Syria. (2) State department and Pentagon officials had to admit that helicopters weren’t being supplied to Syria but were being returned after being overhauled and refused to identify the type of helicopter being returned. An angry Russian foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavro accused the Obama administration of hypocrisy by selling weapons to other Gulf States that … Continue Reading:Amateur Hour at State

The Syrian Mess

By Jim Emerson, staff writer

The civil war in Syria has been in the news lately. Most of the reports have been focused on describing the Assad regime as the evil empire killing innocent civilians in places that have no military value. What the press isn’t telling us is this is a war between two evil entities.

The Regime

The Assad regime is a Ba’ath Party dictatorship and like a majority of dictatorships the son takes over when the father dies. The atrocities committed by this regime can fill volumes. The military is loyal to the regime and has been committing atrocities within its boarder to protect the regime. The military depends on Russia for its weapons and military support. China and Iran are also aligned with the regime and will block any UN sanctions being placed against it. The wildcard Assad has is a sizable stockpile of Chemical and Biological Weapons. To date there is no … Continue Reading:The Syrian Mess
